Rob Tiessen, Executive Director
Rob has served full-time at Camp Squeah since 1997, and was involved for many years before that as a camper and summer staff team member. Having served 10 years as Program Director, in 2006, Rob was appointed as Camp Squeah's Executive Director. He is married to Kim and together they are proud parents to two active young boys and one precious little girl. Kim has also worked at Squeah in the areas of food service, activity instruction, program leadership, and adventure/teambuilding facilitation.
Geoff Gould, Internship Director
Geoff Gould is the director of SEED, a 10-month internship at Camp Squeah. SEED is a mentoring and discipleship process for Christians, where 8 young adults live in community at Squeah, find space to explore deeper life-questions, learn to care more for God’s creation, and are trained in the finer points of camp ministry and outtripping. Geoff and his wife Sarah-Beth have a passion to mentor and walk alongside young adults of any culture. They moved to Hope in May 2010 excited about the opportunity to combine this passion with the SEED vision. They have 3 young boys who they love dearly. Geoff is very enthusiastic about his “second career / vocation”, and loves “being outside, with people”. The experience he brings to Camp Squeah comes out of various camps in Ontario, BC and South Africa. Most recently he worked for 8 years as a professional Adventure Tour Guide in South Africa, one of the countries in which he has lived.
Dave Wismath, Administrative Assistant
Dave joined the camp team in April 2008. Dave and his wife Janice and their 2 children are enjoying life in Hope and the Squeah community. Dave continues to grow in the roles of Group Booking Coordinator and Administrative Assistant.
Tim Larson, Program Director
Tim Larson joined the full time team in 2007. Tim has extensive camping experience from around the province and is happy to have landed at Camp Squeah. Serving Jesus Christ by discipling young people, and sharing his love and care for creation and children are his passions. Tim, his wife Kari and their family live on site at Squeah. Kari has also worked at Squeah in the areas of activity instruction, spring break program, and summer camp leadership.
Dan Friesen, Site Manager
Dan holds the distinction of being the Camp Squeah employee with the longest connection; starting in 1988, he has surpassed his 22nd year of full time work (a new camp record). He and his wife, Lorraine, have three children and live on site. Both Dan and Lorraine have contributed greatly to Squeah over the years. Lorraine has been a key person involved in getting our Paddle-a-thon fundraiser to the smooth running event it is now.
Reid is the newest member of the Squeah Team, and brings his management experience to the Food Service area. Reid has worked in project management, training, and the ordering of raw materials. He is married to Cyndi, and they have two girls who have grown up at Squeah camps.
Pam White, Bookkeeper
Pam has been working part-time at Squeah since 2002. Pam and her husband Randy live with their two daughters in Spuzzum. Pam's children have also been involved with Camp Squeah. They have worked in the kitchen as well as been a part of the summer staff team.
Hiro “Yoshi” Takeda, Head Chef
Yoshi, as he is called at Squeah, has a long history as a camper, starting when he was 6 years old at Mini Camp. After graduating high school in 2003, Yoshi spent the next 6 and a half years training as a chef, and completing his Red Seal Certification when he was just 20 years old. Yoshi joined the Squeah team in April of 2010 as a sous chef, and is looking forward to the challenges that come with the role of head chef.
